We have come full circle from the initial lie that Satan told Eve in the garden. Satan lured her with the promise that she could change into something else. She lived in perfection, she herself was perfection, and yet discontentment set in. There was something more she could be. She was told she could be like God himself. I wonder if this lie came so easily to Satan because it is the same lie he made the mistake of believing. It marks Satan's lack of creativity to set the same trap he fell into. Regardless though, Eve believed this lie and again today we find ourselves believing that same one. The lie is that what we were created as means nothing, and it is becoming common to believe we can supplant God's truth with our own. Eve believed she would become like God if she ate the fruit. Those who believe their gender is a choice fall prey to the same lie. By believing this, they claim authority that is not their own. It is to say that they too can choose to be like God. To reject God's authority and usurp His place as creator has eternal consequences in our lives.
