What is satan's goal?  To kill?  To destroy?  To prevent God's most precious creation from knowing their Creator.  satan wins some, he loses some.  He's a smart little bugger, but what can he do for those that do turn to God?  I'll tell you what he does to them.  He does to them the same thing he told balam to do.  He cannot openly take them hostage because they have taken a new name, but he can send false teachers into their midst.  He can draw them into sin that makes them ineffective to God's kingdom.  He can tell them it is the things they do, like go to church, tithe an affordable amount, or even pray a certain amount that makes them Christian.  He can distract Christians from their true purpose by telling them that the primary purpose for the church is to fellowship.  If satan can get believers to believe a lie about their purpose then at least there is very little chance anyone else will want to join them.
