Luke 5:20
Jesus saw their faith. Kinda makes me wonder if we should be able to too. What does faith look like? Is it a glow? Is it a feeling? Or is it simply an action? Is it taking the time and effort to act on it, because you believe there will be a certain outcome. I think again about investing, taking stocks as an example. It is easy to theorize about a stock purchase, but unless it is accompanied by action, no gain will be had. If you do not purchase the stock you are still just as poor as you were beforehand, if not poorer. Faith without action is dead. These friends of the paralytic man exercised faith. They probably had to turn off their tvs. They had to take time off their jobs. They might have been involved in a business negotiation that had to be paused to take their friend to Jesus. They believed that Jesus could heal their friend. They believed it so desperately that they found a way to get to him. They climbed up on someone else's roof and made a hole in it. What dedication, what action, what faith! Their faith was apparent in their action. They did, because they believed. They didn't just say they believed and sat on their thumbs. Faith might be a feeling, it might be a spiritual glow, but it might be something simpler. It might simply be action, that is rooted in belief.
