142 Hunger and Thirst

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled.

If we are in need of spiritual feeding then how hungry are we?  How thirsty?  Are the hunger pains of starvation setting in?  Is our mouth so dry and desperate that we cannot think of anything else?  When we come together as believers, would you say we are desperately searching for righteousness?   You might say it is sad that we don't often experience physical hunger and thirst.  If we did we might have a better understanding of how we should search for righteousness.  It is interesting thinking of those who do not desperately search for righteousness.  Will they be filled?  If we are checklist Christians then I wonder if we are promised to be spiritually filled at all?
