It is interesting thinking of a couple of childhood friends. Ones that inseparably play throughout a summer. They wake to eagerly run out the door and begin a new adventure. Maybe they work on building a fort, playing at a nearby playground, maybe they enjoy a certain activity together. Regardless of what it is, they each know each other's friendship because they are inseparable. It doesn't really even make sense to question this friendship when they are constantly off on new escapades and adventures.
We often question our salvation, so much so that the pharisees invent terminology and criteria to assure their congregations. I wonder if this is so because we don't walk daily with God in the way He intended. Does the God who created the universe desire relationship or to simply give us a ticket to heaven? Could the assurance of salvation we so often try to define simply come with the relationship He desires? Or could it look like these two young friends taking part in wild adventures and confident in their friendship?
