10 This Present Moment

This present moment, this life on earth, is a simple reflection of what is and what is to come. What we see with our eyes and feel with our hands are just the testing grounds. To focus on earthly things is like looking in a mirror and knowing we need to adjust our appearance, but then instead of doing the adjustments on ourselves we draw on the mirror to cover up a blemish or to draw a new hairstyle. If a cut or scrape needs attention we apply the bandage straight to the mirror. In the end, we look at ourselves, thinking we did a pretty good job. We have covered our wounds and touched up our imperfections, not realizing the gravity of our mistake until we step away from our reflection and stand before the Creator. The one who knit us together in our mother's womb. We then know the truth. We stored up our treasure in the wrong place.
